Pottery is especially dear to me because it evokes memories of my mother teaching me how throw on the wheel at a young age. These fond memories include the art shows that we attended together. Now, years later, art has also become therapeutic, giving me hours and hours of "Flow", an art therapy related medicine for my mind. In times of stress, from within and without, I use pottery to help me center and let go.
I had given up touching clay in my high school years. In 2016, I was reintroduced, and now I am working with pottery again. I thank The Evergreen State College for this as I have fallen in love with the craft, once again. My artwork has improved since I was a child.
